Brick Road Hazy Pale Ale 1.5kg

This Classic Hazy Pale Ale kit, complete with a specialised hazy ale yeast, creates a juicy, Hazy Pale Ale with a distinctive haze from fresh white wheat and ale malts.

To brew a Hazy Pale Ale, add 1.5kg of Brick Road Extra Light malt extract (or alternatively, 1.5kg of Muntons Oat Malt Extract). For a lighter version of the Pale Ale, use 1kg of Brick Road Extra Light Dry malt extract (or 1kg of dextrose). To achieve the characteristic citrus, tropical, and juicy fruit aromas of a Hazy Pale Ale, include at least 60g (and up to 200g) of hops such as Cascade, Citra, Galaxy, Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin, or Motueka.

You can experiment and develop your own unique recipes, building them brick-by-brick. In their pursuit of excellence, Brick Road has globally sourced the finest maltster to produce this exceptional hopped wort.

Only the choicest grains are selected and malted. These grains are expertly blended to complement the specific style of the beer, then combined with hop extracts to produce the hopped wort. The wort is carefully concentrated to 80 Brix and then freshly canned on-site to capture its original, rich malt flavours.

Product Specifications:

  • Colour: Pale gold, 10 EBC
  • Bitterness: Low-medium, 17 IBU
  • Grist: 27% wheat malt, 73% light barley malt
  • Wort: Original Gravity (OG) 1.042; Final Gravity (FG) 1.008 (approx.)
  • Yeast: Hazy ale yeast

Additional Fermentables Required:

  • For Hazy Pale Ale: Add 1.5kg Brick Road Extra Light malt extract (or Muntons Oat) for an ABV of 5.3% in 19L, 4.8% in 21L, and 4.3% in 23L.
  • For a Lighter Pale Ale: Use 1kg Brick Road Extra Light Dry malt extract (or 1kg dextrose) for an ABV of 4.8% in 19L, 4.3% in 21L, and 4.0% in 23L.

Dry Hop Addition Suggestions:

  • For citrus and juicy fruit aromas, add at least 60g (up to 200g) of hops like Cascade, Citra, Galaxy, Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin, or Motueka.

Alternate Yeast Options:

  • US-05, Bry-97, WLP001 California Ale, 1056 American Ale, or other clean, highly attenuating American ale yeasts.
